Rubbish from the beach
We went to the beach for research and ended up spending an hour and a half or so picking up rubbish - from Freyberg Beach to half way along Oriental bay
I sorted and counted everything because I find this interesting. In order of most to least.
Total: 434
Glass: 199
Sea glass (smoothed): 73
- brown: 47

- white: 25 (two are almost half a bottle-attached by the label)

- 1 cookie time wrapper

- 1 small bit of foam
- 1 bit of dried glue

hard plastic: 149 altogether, including
- 3 pieces of plastic spoon
- 1 lollipop stick
- 6 plastic lids
- 2 small glue lids
- 4 small plastic spheres?
- 1 lego
- 1 bit of bread tag

- 5 pieces of foil/crumpled metal,
- 1 paperclip
- 6 lids
- 1 ring pull
Paper: 3 (one mcdonalds wrapper, one small strip of white paper, one large piece of waxed paper)
Rubber bands: 3

- 2 chips of paint
- 1 hairtie
- 1 clothes label
- 1 small piece of wood that's blue
- 1 cloth
- 1 teabag
- 1 earplug
- 1 lump of chewing gum ( and another was stuck to the wall so we left it there)

beach pictures
I went through all the photos on my computer that i've taken and found some good photos. Most of them are south island beaches (Punakaiki, Kaikoura, The Heaphy, Golden Bay: Ancourage, Mutton Cove, Awaroa, Totoranui, and others) and there's a couple from Turakinae head. Will get more photos of Wellington beaches when we can go there on a day that's not raining.
